Brilliant Dishwasher Hacks That Actually Work
I think we can all agree, the dishwasher is the appliance we all love and hate to do without.Of course we love it's ability to clean so we don't have to scrub. Did you know people were using it for a multitude of other items?
Here I've compiled ways to prolong the life of your machine and clean other things too. Let me know what you think.
VINEGAR
Running the dishwasher with plain white vinegar will help to wash away the loose, greasy grime, sanitize, and help remove the musty odor.
BAKING SODA
After the vinegar cycle, sprinkle baking soda and run. The baking soda will help further deodorize your dishwasher and help in removing any stains.
SPINNING ARM
Make sure the holes in the spinning arm are clear and open so that water can run through them freely. Use a needle nose pliers, a toothpick, or some other small pointy tool to remove any debris that has built up in the holes of the spinning arm. Be careful not to scratch the spinning arms.
CLEAN AND REMOVE STAINS WITH KOOL-AID
Put the lemonade powder into the detergent area, close it, and start the dishwasher. Wipe down and all the grungy, rust spots, lime deposits, mildew is gone.
POTATOES
Set potatoes in the top rack and turn on the rinse cycle to clean the dirt off.
LAUNDRY BAG
Use a mesh laundry bag to prevent lids and smaller items from falling through the racks.
CLEAN ITEMS IN THE DISHWASHER
Clean and disinfect toys, brushes, and flip flops.
Store Your Sponges In The Dishwasher
It is a simple tip but keeping sponges in the dishwasher keeps the counters clear of clutter, therefore you have extra space, sponges stay clean and sink stays clear.
WASH BASEBALL CAPS
The dishwasher can keep our cap in shape.
MAKEUP BRUSHES
Makeup brushes collect oil and bacteria that clog your pores and lead to acne. Run them through the dishwasher for clean brushes and clear skin.
