That’s a lot of Christmas Movies and you would have to watch two Christmas movies a day even if you started watching before December. That means so many options you might have to start a rotation that skips movies on some years. I know that there are some we have to see every year, while others stay on the shelf (with the elf of course) for a few years before we wath them again.

No, some of these might not be what you consider iconic. You may not have even heard of a few of these, but I really like them so they made my list! If you want to settle down to a list that is more general audience (ie. no talking puppies) and truly iconic here is a more concise list that you can probably watch every year without fail even though you already know most of the lines and can recite them verbatim throughout the movie.

  • Elf
  • Home Alone
  • The Santa Clause
  • Miracle on 34th Street
  • A Charlie Brown Christmas
  • The Nightmare Before Christmas
  • Frosty the Snowman
  • Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas
  • White Christmas
  • A Christmas Story
  • National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation
  • It’s a Wonderful Life

Notice I picked 12? That was on purpose, but it hurt to do because I had to leave off so many that I like. Let me know about your favorites below if you have to cut your list to 12.
