Dr. Suess’ The Grinch DVD
Dr. Seuss' The Grinch
While the holidays may be over, I am looking forward to the much-anticipated release (digital available now and Blu-ray Feb 2) of the Illumination and Universal Studios release of the animated version of Dr. Seuss' The Grinch. This version of the Grinch Blu-ray comes stuffed with 3 fun bonus mini movie shorts: “Dog Days of Winter” starring the Grinch and his heroically loyal dog Max; and “Yellow is the New Black” and “Santa’s Little Helpers,” both starring the lovable Minions, that we can watch over and over, and repeat at Christmas as it is sure to be a classic.
Dr. Seuss' The Grinch Delivers
This year was short on holiday offerings in the way of movies. Perhaps because Illuminations Dr. Suess's The Grinch is that wonderful it shied the others away from going up against it? This movie and it's mini collection is a truly impressive package. I wondered if they could do Dr. Seuss' The Grinch justice and I was not let down. It’s not that I don’t think Illumination could pull it off. After all, they have done other amazing movies such as Sing, Minions, and Despicable me, to name just a few. I was just unsure of whether it would be enjoyable. Animation, IMO, is a hard fete to satisfy both adults and children at the same time. However, I found it to be some of the most creative and entertaining storytelling while remaining a heart-warming, family-friendly movie.
This movie package includes not only Dr. Seuss' the Grinch, based on the beloved classic about the cynical grump, but also includes the 3 mini movies as well as other bonus features such as a silly exploration of The Grinch's earliest memories.
This is sure to be a classic and one that you'll be happy to add to your holiday rotation. I highly recommend it if you are a fan of holiday movies (I mean, who isn't. Am I right?) and especially the animated version of Dr. Seuss' The Grinch.
