9 Uses for Ice Cubes You’ll Wish You Knew Sooner
As you know, I love hacks. Especially cleaning and organization hacks and lately I've been loving any hack with natural products like my posts on vinegar and hydrogen peroxide. I love focusing on the natural products that are safe to use in homes with children and pets. We all want our families to be safe right? There are so many products out there that are questionable for use with kids and pets so let's just go with the natural ones alright? And 9 times out of 10, they are even cheaper!
Today, I wanted to enlighten you on the many uses of ice cubes. I know, you thought they were only good for drinks, right? They are good for so much more. I think my favorite hack with the ice cube is the one for dents in carpeting. I'll fill you in on that more below.

Clean and Sharpen Your Disposal
If your garbage disposal is a little stinky and not grinding great, this could be because of many factors but is usually dirt and grease build up. Simply toss some ice cubes in the disposal and grind them up. That dirt and grease will adhere to the ice and flow right down the drain. Remove Gum
You may have had it happen to you, but if you have kids, it's inevitable that there will be gum stuck to clothes, hair or carpet. While it may seem the end of that item, it typically isn't with this handy remedy. Take an ice cube and rub it on every area with gum. Easily Smooth Caulk
When you are caulking and attempting to smooth it but it it's sticking to your finger, I, of course, have a hack for that. The easy remedy is to rub an ice cube across the caulk. Water Hanging Plants
If you’re short like me and trying to constantly reach into a hanging plant seems like a workout, or precarious on a step stool, simply toss ice cubes into the pot. Smooth Out Wrinkles

Reheat Rice
Leftover rice heated in the microwave tends to get dry and clumpy. When you go to heat it, place an ice cube on the top of the rice. Put an ice cube on top of the rice. As it heats, the ice cube melts giving it moisture thereby preventing it from drying out. The ice cube will melt as the rice reheats, giving the rice much-needed moisture. Remove Dents From Carpet
Remember I said this was my favorite? I try to take really good care of my carpet. I like nice clean carpet with, yes, the vacuum marks lol. So, obviously, I don't want dents in my carpet if I should move or rearrange my furniture. All you need to do is put an ice cube on the dent where the furniture left the offending mark. Tweezing & Waxing
Ice cubes are great for numbing the skin. In fact, when my daughter got hit by a car and broke her ankle, the remedy that helped the best was an ice pack on the injury. So if you'll be tweezing or waxing and hate the pain, try numbing the area.
Wrap the ice cube in a lightweight cloth and rub the area that you'll be working on until numb.
