Additional Tips For Making Dr. Pepper BBQ Crockpot Ribs
You can plop the soon-to-be-in-your-mouth slow cooker ribs into your Crockpot as long as they’ll fit. cutting the rack to size is just about all you have to do. However, ribs come with a membrane under the rack as well. This is a thin stretchy material that spreads across the rack. It’s usually best to remove this membrane for better-tasting ribs. When the membrane cooks it turns to a rubbery substance with no flavor.
To take off this membrane, all you need is a table knife, but a paper towel is also useful. You can use the towel to grab the loose membrane so it doesn’t slip out of your hand as you work. Simply slide the blade in near one end to create a wedge. lifting the membrane, gently slide the knife over to the closest end. Then pull the membrane tight and peel it away from the ribs, using the knife to separate it as needed.
That’s all there is to it these slow cooker ribs. You don’t even have to use this step but it does achieve the best results. Add the Dr Pepper and the BBQ Sauce and you are good to go. Slow cooker ribs are the best whether you do it outside or inside. It’s the only way to get that fall off the bone tenderness we all love. I mentioned other sodas you can use as well. Just think about the flavor of the soda and what kind of depth it will add to the BBQ Sauce you use. Cola works great with a thicker and bolder sauce, whereas the Dr Pepper hits the spot with the Sweet Baby Rays.
