My love for wine is apparent in my collection of wine corks.
However they are just displayed in a vase. How boring, right?
I sat looking at this vase and decided I needed to create something usable that displays them. The best part is that I am upcycling.

WINE CORK BATH MAT
It was inspired by CB2’s bamboo bath mat, which is perfectly lovely and affordable but too big for my tiny bathroom, hence this equally eco-friendly version.
Just as I want to upcycle something, Yarni Gras purpose was also to upcycle and did so to reconfigure some old cheese knives that didn’t look so hot anymore as well as the wine corks she also had on hand. She could have thrown those old knives away but she found a way to make them look new again.
NAPKIN RINGS WITH WINE CORK STOPPERS
This is a great, practical idea (you can make them for any holiday dinner party and they are inexpensive) as well as a lovely piece.
WINE CORK BULLETIN BOARD
We drink and use wine in cooking at our house pretty often, so I’ve hoarded a fairly decent collection of corks over the past few years. And this, coupled with my growing obsession to personalize my desk area at work, lead me to start scheming about making a bulletin board out of wine corks. Recently I’ve started taping up lists and reminders above my desk. Which looks, well, sort of junky. So I knew a bulletin board would come in handy.

You’ll want to take a few minutes to make these easy Chalkboard and Wine Cork Place Cards. And the best part is that these can easily be reused for any celebration.

DIY CORK TILE PLACEMAT FROM WINE CORKS
If you’re a cork collector like me, this DIY project is for you. Wine drinkers know how many leftover corks you can accumulate over the years, so let’s put them to use! Not only do I love wine, but I love using cork for crafting projects. It’s easy to cut, naturally waterproof with a beautiful rustic look, and it has a cushion material that makes for the perfect handmade placemat.

WINE CORK DART BOARD CABINET
The worst part about playing darts is that when you miss—it can damage not only your ego, but also the wall behind the dartboard if it’s not protected. Redditor mavantix found a solution to this problem in wine corks. Over a year, he collected over 1,000 corks from family and friends to make this DIY Cork Dartboard Cabinet—that’s a lot of wine!
