Raspberry Cream Smoothie

Keto smoothies, on their face, seem impractical, or impossible. Although a raspberry cream smoothie is undoubtedly delicious and even healthy by traditional standards, smoothies are relatively high in carbs. In many cases, a single 12 oz smoothie can be about 10%-20% of your daily intake of carbs. That's not taking into account whether you are on the keto diet. Keto dieters are likely to rule smoothies out, especially if they are new to the system and being extra cautious about what they eat. However, the best things on any diet are the ones that fly in the face of logic. In that case, this keto raspberry cream smoothie could be the equivalent of gluten-free bread or the impossible burger.

Smoothie or Milkshake?

This is a true smoothie. This keto raspberry cream smoothie recipe might be creamier than your traditional smoothie and it is light on net carbs (under 4 grams per serving) but it does not use processed sugar and the heavy cream is fairly neutralized with added water. This gives the consistency of the beverage a more comparable thickness to a smoothie and it is not excessively sweet.

Making a Keto-Friendly Smoothie

This recipe uses smart components such as cucumber and lime to enhance the flavor profile and keep overall carbs low. Raspberries are also relatively low in carbs while remaining high in fiber. This makes it an excellent choice for a keto-based smoothie. The secret ingredient to this smoothie is the protein powder we used. Information on the exact brand and the macronutrients in its content are listed at the bottom of this article.

Below are my specific measurements, ingredients, and recommendations for making a healthy and tasty keto-friendly smoothie. All of the macros are listed for reference as well as a note about the specific brand of protein powder I used and why I prefer it.
