Easy Low Carb Slow Cooker Meals For Busy Families

With Fall upon us, what better time than now to start thinking about easier, dump meals that save time and money, not to mention low carb. Mornings have us in the whirlwind of getting the family ready while after work we are tired from the long day, possibly with activities. This leaves us with little time and often opting for unhealthy fast foods. What’s easier than slow cooker dump meals?

I’ve got you covered with these low carb slow cooker recipes that can be made in any type of slow cooker or crock pot. Super simple with easy to follow steps and just a few simple ingredients.

Here are some of my favorite tools for cooking in the slow cooker and packaging for the freezer:

All of these are low carb, keeping you on plan but are appealing to the whole family. Many are also excellent freezer meals too!

So, get ready and grab your slow cooker/crock pot and let’s get cooking!

Slow Cooker Spicy Swiss Steak – from Low Carb-ology

I like using a slow cooker in the summer as well as the winter. This easy, slow cooker swiss steak recipe is not only very low carb — it’s just right any time of the year. I like to serve it with a salad but if you feel the need for traditional mash then mash up some cauliflower with lots of butter and a little cheddar cheese.  This would also be great with the faux mac and cheese recipe.

Always season your meat generously before you put it in to cook. One of the biggest mistakes people make is the lack of seasoning on their food. It doesn’t have to be all salt — lemon zest, pepper, paprika and other herbs and spices work in tandem with a little salt to bring flavor to a higher level.

One way I stay on track is to make a huge amount of something like this swiss steak and then freeze it in single serving packages. That way I have a low carb meal that is ready whenever I need it. Think of it as being your own personal chef!

Creamy Mexican Slow Cooker Chicken – from Peace, Love and Low Carb

Not only is this chicken dish made with only 5 ingredients, but it is made in the slow cooker. Dinner doesn’t get much easier than that.  Looking for some other quick meal ideas?  I have a whole section on my site dedicated to recipes with 5 ingredients or less.  You can find it – Here.

Slow Cooker Greek Chicken – from Chef in Training

I was really in the mood for some Greek cuisine last week and decided to change up they way I cooked my chicken. The end result was tender, easily shreddible, favorable chicken breasts with Greek flair. I actually made it two nights in a row I loved it so much! The first night we ate it as is with feta sprinkled on top. The feta softened up over the warm chicken and was rich in flavor. We served it with a side of Greek Salad and sliced Pita bread. The second night we made it for Greek Gyros and they tasted fabulous!

Slow Cooker Garlic Butter Chicken with Cheese Cream Sauce – from Our Small Hours

Cream Cheese Sauce.

Oh my.  Where do I even begin?  I guess I should tell you first about the tender, moist chicken.  But, you just have to know about the tangy cream cheese sauce.  The garlic butter component is pretty important, too.

I guess the best thing about this dish is that it’s as simple to make as it is tasty.  It’s perfectly comforting after a busy day and even better as a leftover lunch the next day.  (Even if you eat it sitting at your desk.  Promise!)

Oh, and it’s keto-friendly!

Slow Cooker Italian Meatloaf – from It’s Yummi

Low carb meatloaf  is one of the most popular low carb dinner recipes on It’s Yummi! Meal prep is quick and easy with this Low Carb Slow Cooker Meatloaf recipe, and your crock pot does all of the cooking!

The low carb meatloaf bursts with Italian flavor and is SO juicy and delicious! It’s definitely one of our favorite slow cooker recipes for a healthy comfort food dinner.

Shredded Taco Pork – from Peace, Love and Low Carb

Low Carb shredded taco pork! It’s what’s for dinner… and lunch… and probably breakfast.

I just love low carb slow cooker recipes. They make easy recipes even easier.

In fact, this might possibly be one of the easiest keto recipes you will ever make. But don’t let the simplicity fool you, this baby packs some major flavor.  I made this dish to take to a football party (GO HAWKS!), as we were all bringing components for a taco bar.  It was a big hit!

For this recipe, I used 2 x 2lb pork roasts, as opposed to one large one.  I think it really added to how flavorful and juicy the meat turned out. The homemade low carb taco seasoning in this recipe is what really makes it. This is a great recipe for low carb meal prep. It makes a large batch and it freezes and reheats really well.

Slow Cooker Pork Adobo – from Slender Kitchen

I am a sucker for any type of slow cooker or slow roasted pork. Let’s be honest, I just love pork in almost any form, especially when it becomes moist and tender and can be used for sandwiches, tacos, or served over rice in all of it’s deliciousness.

This recipe is a traditional Latin American pork recipe but I bet it would also be delicious with chicken or steak. The sauce is smokey, spicy, and delicious. Yum.

Slow Cooker Pizza Meatloaf – from The Country Chic Cottage

My slow cooker pizza meatloaf is sure to please even your pickiest eater.  Plus everyone loves a recipe you can cook in the crock pot right?  Let the slow cooker do the cooking for you as this pizza meatloaf fills your house with wonderful smells all day.

My slow cooker pizza meatloaf is one of the best crock pot meals I have had.  Pick up the ingredients for this one at the grocery store and make this one soon.  You will agree that this slow cooker pizza meatloaf recipe is an amazing change from the plain and ordinary.

Chicken Bacon Crock Pot Chowder – from Peace, Love and Low Carb

This low carb Slow Cooker Chicken Bacon Chowder is deliciously rich and flavorful.

If you are looking to impress your friends with your cooking skills, this would be the dish to make them. Although it keeps well in the fridge, good luck having any leftovers.

Crock Pot Creamy Tuscan Garlic Chicken Recipe-From Wholesome Yum

Low carb crock Pot recipes are great for so many occasions. Too busy to make dinner?

Use the slow cooker.

Too hot to turn on the oven?

Use the slow cooker.

Out and about all day?

Use the slow cooker.

And, this creamy Tuscan garlic chicken recipe is one of my new favorite things to make in mine!

This particular Crock Pot Tuscan chicken recipe actually came about in the first months after my daughter started daycare. Let’s just say we were not winning the influx of endless respiratory viruses she kept bringing home.

Crock Pot Meatball Parmesan – From Recipes That Crock

These meatballs are my family’s absolute favorite meatballs and just so happen to be a great low carb recipe too! Crock Pot Meatball Parmesan creates tender meatballs full of flavor that are perfect over your favorite pasta substitute (or spaghetti if you aren’t low carb).

Low Carb Taco Crock Post Soup from Keto Bootstrap

A taco soup that is not only amazing, but it makes you realize that you can have all the flavors of a taco without actually having to have a shell.

Low Carb & Keto Butter Chicken from Gnom Gnom

This keto butter chicken is ridiculously tastyaromatic, and a breeze to whip up! Plus, it just so happens to be a naturally low carb dish (and we’ve since added a dairy free and paleo option too!).

Butter chicken might just be the most famous curry export from India, wow-ing palates wherever it goes. Plus, it also happens to be incredibly easy to get just right.

And while there are a myriad of versions out there, it’s in essence a yogurt-with-spices-and-lime marinated chicken, cooked up in a mildly-spiced and incredible curry sauce. And for a paleo version, coconut yogurt and cream work wonderful with the flavors!

Said curry sauce is also a breeze to make. Think sautéed onions cooked up with the incredibly aromatic ginger, garam masala, cumin, turmeric and just a hint of cinnamon. All naturally keto ingredients, whoop whoop!

Slow Cooker Jerk Chicken from Bakers Royale

I’m bringing America’s Test Kitchen’s slow cooker recipe for Caribbean jerk chicken. This is definitely the simpler way to make this dish since you can trade in hours of marinating and grilling time for the simple slow cooking method of dumping it all in a pot and letting the chicken cook in the spice marinade, then give it a quick charring and crisping in the broiler and — done!

Low-Carb Sausage-Stuffed Peppers from Paleo Pot

Sausage and peppers and always been one of my favorite Italian comfort foods, and also rather easy to make. I had been pondering writing some new stuffed pepper recipes due t0 their easy and decided to spin the common recipe to merge my love for two different recipes. This is another one that is an easy way to feed the whole family with 10 minutes of prep time, or simply get 3 or 4 meals cooked ahead of time for yourself.

How to Stay in Ketosis in Epcot at Walt Disney World

how to stay in ketosis

Any diet has it’s tough moments of temptation, but do not worry about slipping out of ketosis on account of your vacation in Disney World.  It’s no more difficult to stay in ketosis on Disney property than anywhere else (other than your home). Actually, Disney World is one of the best places dieters can go to eat foods that are okay for them in a restaurant setting.  This is because Disney goes out of there way to make dining comfortable for those who suffer allergies to certain foods. As a result, any special diet can ride on the coattails of these considerations. Here is an example of how to stay in ketosis in Epcot:

Why You Lose Weight On A Keto Diet

“Regular” Diets Focus on Calories and Exercise

The ‘regular’ way to lose weight over a long period of time is to reduce the number of calories you take in and increase the number of calories you use as fuel in your daily activity. Science has discovered that this actually doesn’t work as well as we would like it to, and that is because calorie counting does not address cravings nor does it offer guidance on what type of food to eat for long-term weight loss. Additional science has taught us that carbohydrates and sugar foods are what need to be removed from our diet, or greatly reduced from our diet, for long-term weight loss.

What Can You Eat On A Keto Diet

The key to a keto diet is to build ketones. And, the key to building ketones is a mixture of fasting and a diet with at least 65% of your food intake being from fat. This leaves you with about 30% proteins and the last 5% can be an additional 5% of fat or 5% of dark green low carb vegetables like dandelion leaves, kale, spinach, Swiss chard, etc.

How To Calculate Net Carbs

On any low-carb diet, you will be reducing your net carb gram intake. It is important that you understand how to actually count net carbs.
