The big Disney vacation vision is usually of frolicking in the deluxe resorts, just a stone’s throw away from Magic Kingdom, without a care in the world. On the other hand, many guests who want to go to Disney World just don’t have the budget for that kind of luxury, or they would rather extend their stay than have to cut it down. A value resort is a way to save money and still be on property. There are many great reasons to choose a value resort over other Disney resorts, or an off property hotel.
The Perks Buying Disney…For Less
A value resort on property is still a Disney resort.
So while you can expect them to be less inspired and the rooms to (usually) be a little smaller, there is still plenty of magic.
You get all of the standard perks of booking with Disney, such as early Fastpass+ selections and free MagicBands.
You will also be able to buy those cool refillable cups to use for your entire stay. As a guest on a Disney resort, you can even have a Disney Character give you a wake-up call.
A Longer Stay
This is such a bonus.
If you have a budget and can only afford a short vacation at one of the deluxe resorts you can lengthen your stay by choosing to go with a value resort instead.
That means more time surrounded by Disney Magic whether you decide to go to the parks or not.
If your trip is too short, you won’t be able to enjoy the amenities you are paying for at a deluxe resort anyway.
The Awesome Pools
Value resorts have more pools, and they are usually pretty great.
Some of the deluxe resort pools are nice to look at, but there is not a whole lot you can do in them.
Value resort feature pools are usually bigger in size and have a lot more fun splash zones for kids.
The pool bars are typically open later than at other resorts, as well.
Convenient and Cheap Meals
Food courts abound in the Disney value resort.
You can make your reservations for dining anywhere else in Disney World, but staying at a value resort means ultimate convenience right at home.
Quick service is faster and cheaper and easier to do when coming or going.
However, it’s the food court feature that makes the experience so fantastic, because everyone in the family can order food for their tastes.
The Free Transportation
As a guest on Disney property, you are surrounded twenty-four/seven by Disney Magic.
Part of that means never having to drive a car, or pay for a ride if you don’t want to.
For many, Disney transportation is the most magical part of the experience.
Soon enough the Skyliner will be connecting Pop Century and Art of Animation, each a value resort, to Epcot and Hollywood Studios.
It’s true most of the value resorts are far from the Magic Kingdom, but there is a way around that.
If you don’t want to wait for a Magic Kingdom bus, hop on an Epcot bus instead and take the monorail the rest of the way.
Security will be easier to get through than at the Magic Kingdom Ticket Center.
The Proximity to Animal Kingdom
The All-Star resorts are closest to Animal Kingdom, which makes visiting Pandora much easier.
Plus, you can enjoy the many offerings at Animal Kingdom Lodge, from cultural activities and free tours to fantastic restaurants and animal sightseeing.
