What Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party Offers You

It's quite a bit of money to attend.

So, what do you get for it?

Quite a lot actually.

For starters, you get the magical ambiance of Christmas on Main Street USA and all over the Magic Kingdom.

The party runs from 7:00 pm to Midnight which means you will have five official party hours inside the park.

You actually get more than that.

See below, under How to Stretch Your Disney Dollars.

You also get exclusive gifts and entertainment that the Magic Kingdom doesn't offer during regular operating hours.

Magic Kingdom at Christmas Time

At a minimum, a ticket for Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party entitles you to Magic Kingdom admission, plus it's Christmas time where everything is decked out with yuletide cheer.

On top of that, the park is closed to regular guests, so there are a lot fewer crowds to contend with.

You have access to almost all of the attractions and experience little to no wait times during the party.

Part of the opportunity is the amazing Christmas treats Disney has on offer around the park like Holiday Yule logs, Push Up Cake Pops, Mousses, Waffles and more.

There is also exclusive party merchandise available.

Free Exclusives

In addition to other freebies, guests of the Very Merry Christmas Party will receive a collectible Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom card.

This is an interactive card game that takes participants on a quest around Walt Disney's Magic Kingdom.

One of the best things Disney offers at this event is the totally free cookies and cocoa stations around the park.

Each location features a different cookie and beverage. Last year, there were seven and they offered a range of treats from soft pretzels and snow-cones to more traditional Eggnog with Ginger Molasses Cookies.

Other locations offered Chocolate Milk and Peppermint Cookies, and Hot Chocolate with Snickerdoodles.

Another key element to the Magic Kingdom Christmas Party is the characters that show up for photos.

You will find rarely seen characters to meet and say hello to, including Santa Claus himself.

Exclusive Entertainment

You may not realize it, but the entertainment at Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party is exclusive to the event.

As the Big Day approaches Mickey's Once Upon a Christmastime Parade does get to be seen by the regular park attendees but for the most part, it is a party exclusive along with the Frozen castle lighting ceremony, the fireworks show, Holiday Wishes, Mickey's Most Merriest Celebration, and A Totally Tomorrowland Christmas.

Plus, there will be dancing at Club Tinsel.

How to Stretch Your Disney Dollars

When you go to Mickey's Very Merry Christmas party, don't buy a regular park ticket on the day of the party.

Take the day off and sleep in, have a big meal and rest up for the evening.

This will allow you to have more fun and prevent you from paying twice to be in the same park.

Although the party will start at 7:00 pm you can and should arrive early.

Party guests are allowed in at 4:00.

Take advantage of this opportunity to get more hours of park time for free and get a head start on other partygoers when Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party officially starts.

Use Fastpasses while you can. During the party, there will not be any Fastpass.

To get the most out of your park time with fewer crowds pay attention to the parade and show schedule and don't do the first performance of anything.

Those are the ones with the largest audience, which means those people aren't riding the attractions.

Is it Worth the Cost?

If you don't double down by buying an additional ticket for regular hours, this is definitely worth the money to go.

There is so much content offered and it's such a warm and memorable experience.

There are even add-ons on top of the party admission like the Holiday Wishes Dessert Party.

This extra ticket event includes unlimited desserts that are different than the free cookies and beverages found all around the Magic Kingdom.

In addition to the sweets, you are entitled to a private viewing area for the Holiday Wishes Fireworks Spectacular.

The argument can be made that this is worth it too, depending on how tight your budget is.

However, all things considered, the basic party admission offers enough exclusive entertainment, and free stuff to be worth the cost.

On top of which, you still have the cool characters you get to meet and the attractions with limited wait times.

Most of all it's the magic in the air that is incomparable to any normal theme park experience and when you see the "snow" falling on a lit up Main Street, you'll know you're in the right place.
