With spring and summer upon us, I’m sharing Crockpot Keto Meals that my family makes on vacation. And, since we’re talking about vacation, I’ve said many times in my posts what we look for when vacationing and looking for a rental. One of the main things we look for is a kitchen. Having a kitchen saves greatly on our expenses which is from cooking our own meals.
However, on vacation, we don’t really want to cook so I stick to super simple meals, mainly crock pot. I’ve got my list of go-to Crockpot Keto Meals that are keto friendly for my family.
The idea is to save time, money, effort and spend little time in the kitchen. The list of recipes I’ve compiled for Crockpot Keto Meals will help you stay on budget and keep kitchen time to a minimum.
Crockpot Keto Meals for Simple, Budget-Friendly Vacation Meals
Obviously, we want to eat delicious meals while on vacation but don’t want to break the bank nor spend the day in the kitchen. If you’re like me, you’ll want your toes in the sand and wine in your hand and not cooped up at the stove.
On our recent Spring Break trip to Indian Shores, we stayed in a wonderful Florida Lifestyles rental with a stunning balcony overlooking the ocean. Basically… we never wanted to leave. Between us, there were three kids between the ages of 2 and 7, and three adults, so being able to wake up and make an easy breakfast, plus lunch and snacks and early dinners made it the best and most relaxed vacation.
Beach Vacation Meal Planning
This should be a joint effort from agreeing to what meals you’ll have to who cooks what and who cleans up. Even if it is a crock pot meal, you don’t want to be the one continually stuck preparing all the vacation meals.
You can take a crock pot but I simply ask if our unit has one. I’ve even purchased an inexpensive one while there (many under $20 which will still keep you way under budget compared to eating out). Having prepared your list of meals, recipes and grocery list beforehand make for an easy trip to the store. The plan that works for me: When we get to the condo, priority is unpacking and putting everything where you need it. By the time you’ve traveled and put your things away, then shopped for the week, you’ll be tired. That first night, head to a good local restaurant for your first meal.
When To Cook The Meal
To determine when to start your crock pot, check your recipe. Some can be put in the am before you leave while some others may only need 2 hours. If you are lucky enough to have a timered crock pot, that will also help.
